List of questions:
1. Tell me about the last time you went to the grocery store.
2. Do you own a car or any form of transportation?
3. Do you find your local grocer has everything you want?
4. Do you think you would use a grocery delivery service if it was offered to you?
I think that the opportunity now that I have talked to customers is a reasonably priced convenient grocery delivery service that also works as a food truck for the grocery service and their deli market.
I enjoyed interviewing the customers and learned a lot from their answers. I also learned how to ask questions properly and have a better understand of what to look for in an interview. It was interesting to do this exercise. I did not particularly enjoy it but I did get great experience because of it.
PS: One of the videos cut out so I had to restart it.
Steve, as a first year student on campus with little to no transportation, your idea really resonates with me. This is especially because I can only dream about getting Publix Subs delivered to my door. I think your idea has a ton of demand and the fact that the vehicle doubles as a food truck makes it even more appealing to me. ReplyDeleteHey Steven,
ReplyDeleteI think the problem you brought up is very relevant for many students at UF, especially younger students without transportation. I had this problem while I was a freshman and sophmore but now that I have a car it is not anymore. You conducted your interviews very well and the random participants you selected answered the questions clearly. I personally would not use this service but I think many students would love for this to be a thing.
Hey Steven,
ReplyDeleteGreat job conducting interviews. I used to live in a big city that offered grocery store delivery by shopping online, and it was pretty popular because most people do not have cars in Manhattan. Here, the same principle applies, but I don't think the market is quite as large. I can see how this would appeal to students who do not have a car, but for your next interview maybe try interviewing the elderly who cannot drive/lift heavy objects anymore. Just an idea :)

I love the right to the point approach that you have used during the interviews. In addition, you did a good job encouraging unsolicited information from the interviewees by asking "can you tell me more about that?" I know Publix had a service like the one you are exploring in the past but has discontinued it, leaving an open opportunity.
